Today I wanted to tell you about a new Brand you can find in our shop and the magic it unleashes in unn moment in history when it seems that care and love for others and the earth is a disvalue.

I tell you about Noomad Noos and their adventure in pursuit of an increasingly ethical and tradition-friendly approach.

Nomadnoos is made up of a team of people who work together to offer the highest quality yarns, which can be either hand-spun or mechanically spun, hand-dyed, but always made in a transparent and fair manner.
Their focus is on consumers who are looking for products that express environmental and social concern in all aspects.

That is why Nomadnoos exists and has as its mission to create value by offering handspun and handcrafted yarns from sustainable sources for those who knit, following the principles of Slow Fashion.

Nomadnoos yarns are all high quality and exclusive and come from Mongolian farmers and women living in developing countries the proceeds are then provided to the NGO Terre Filanti to carry out projects to support spinners and farmers.

Where Nomad Noos fibers are born…

Their yarn line takes us to faraway places they love deeply, starting with Mongolia.
They work with nomadic Mongolian herders who own mixed herds of yaks, camels, sheep and goats; they support them by buying only fiber that does not harm their pastures, thus helping to improve their living conditions.

They purchase the finest fibers directly from them, which are sent for washing and carding to a processing factory located in the capital, Ulaan Bator, where a water recycling system is used to most effectively protect the local environment.

Next step: spinning

Once the highest quality is achieved, these wonderful fibers are sent to Nepal. In Kathmandu, the journey continues with a group of highly skilled women who spin the yarns by hand.

The entire line is dyed locally in Kathmandu with colors that have no negative impact on the environment, to create the ever-expanding range of vibrant hues. The Kathmandu workshop also has an integrated water recycling plant, allowing all water used in the process to be reused.

Hand spinning provides a steady income for the Kathmandu team, improving the lives of spinners and their families.

Every purchase is the beginning of something big

By purchasing Nomad Noos yarns you will not only be making something wonderful with your own hands, but you will also be supporting communities with vibrant textile traditions and this team of fantastic spinners whose faces and names you will know, because on each label you will find both the face and the name of the person who with great professionalism prepared the skein you are going to work with ❤️
